I’m Ferhat, an independent industrial designer.

I have more than 16 years of experience across design disciplines, with a focus on industrial and product design since 2015.

My background is in architecture and interior design. That still shapes how I think about products, from their proportions and relationship with people to the details of how they’re put together.

I’ve worked across consumer electronics, home and pet products, furniture and product systems. I enjoy working through the connections between design, engineering, manufacturing and the business behind the product.

I’m based in Istanbul and work primarily with U.S. founders and product companies. Much of my work over the past five years has been for U.S.-based businesses or products intended for the U.S. market. I also work with clients internationally and coordinate with manufacturing partners in China as projects develop.

You work directly with me throughout the project. I explain the options, talk through the tradeoffs, and coordinate with engineers and manufacturers when the project needs them.
